Overview
CompuGroup Medical (CGM) is one of the world's leading companies in the field of e-health. It develops and markets innovative, platform-based solutions for hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and nursing homes.
Challenge
Following the acquisition of a medium-sized German company in 2023, CGM faced a critical challenge: The previous IT service provider was unable to deliver the project in a market-ready state—neither meeting the required quality standards nor providing the necessary level of information security, nor within a reliable timeframe.
By the time our team came on board, the project had already been stalled by the previous provider for over a year.
Working with sensitive patient data always requires the highest standards of compliance and security. Our goal was to build a secure, scalable hybrid cloud infrastructure capable of hosting the patient portal and its associated services.
Our Solution
As soon as we took over the delayed project, we launched a complete overhaul of the cloud infrastructure from the ground up. Despite the complexity, the team delivered the solution in just six months —and with fewer staff than the previous company.
The new system was deployed on the T Cloud Public. Since the customer operates in the healthcare sector, security was a top priority. We therefore implemented a BSI C5-compliant architecture that meets the highest German federal standards for cloud security.
To support the customer’s future, growing needs, the platform was designed for automatic scaling, ensuring optimal performance even during peak traffic on the patient portal.
