CompuGroup Medical (CGM) is one of the leading e-health companies in the world that develops and distributes innovative platform-based tools for clinics, rehabilitation centers, and care facilities.
Client Challenge
Following their 2023 acquisition of a medium-sized German company, CGM faced a critical challenge: the existing IT service provider was unable to bring the project to a market-ready state with the required level of quality, information security, and within a reliable timeframe.
When our team was brought on board, the project had already been stalled for over a year with the previous provider.
Working with sensitive patient data always brings about compliance and security standards challenges. The goal was to build a secure, scalable hybrid cloud infrastructure that could host the client’s patient portal and associated service.
Our Solution
Once we took over the delayed project, we initiated a complete rebuild of the cloud infrastructure from the ground up. Despite the project’s complexity, the team delivered the solution within only six months with fewer people than the previous company working on the project.
The new system was deployed on Open Telekom Cloud (OTC), a German cloud provider that is GDPR-compliant with all physical infrastructure located in Germany. This ensures full adherence to national data residency and privacy standards.
Security was a top priority as the client is part of the healthcare sector. Which is why we implemented BSI C-5 compliant architecture, meeting Germany’s highest federal standards for cloud security.
To support the future of the client’s growing demands, the platform was designed for automatic scaling, guaranteeing optimal performance even during patient portal peak usage times.
