We're NRW's top-rated employer for 2026

Every year, kununu ranks the best employers in every German state. The scores come from reviews that a company's own employees write. For 2026, iits-consulting placed first among larger companies in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). That makes us a top-rated employer in NRW 2026, with 4.83 out of 5 stars.

NRW is Germany's most populous state and one of Europe's strongest economies. First place there means winning a crowded field. We're proud of it. But a strong ranking only matters if you look underneath the number.

What a top-rated employer in NRW 2026 is made of

A few things stood out in the kununu profile:

  • 100% of employees said they'd recommend iits as a place to work.
  • Our corporate culture scored 4.9 out of 5.
  • Work-life balance, day-to-day atmosphere, and managers’ behavior are rated particularly highly
  • 98% said they were satisfied with pay and benefits.

The recommendation figure is the one we think about most. A strong average is one thing, but a team where every single person would recommend the job is a rarer and more honest signal.

So what sits behind a 4.9 on culture? Mostly how we set ourselves up to work. We run remote-first, with flexible hours, flat hierarchies, and self-organized teams that own their decisions. Everyone gets a yearly training budget and dedicated learning time, plus the option to work from somewhere else for a stretch. Hiring runs through our developers, not just HR, so new colleagues are picked partly on whether they fit the way the teams already work. That's a big part of why the skills shortage everyone else worries about has never really landed for us: in a single year we had close to 3,900 applications to choose from.

Keeping that alive across a fully remote team takes deliberate effort, down to small things like how we keep appreciation visible when nobody shares an office. There's a fuller picture of how we actually work for you to read.

What we won't pretend

We haven't got everything figured out. Rankings are a snapshot, and a snapshot flatters. There are things we're still working on, and the reviews that helped us here included the critical ones as well as the kind.

What we can say is that the way we work, remote-first, agile by default, close to the people we build for, seems to be landing with the people who do it every day. That's the part a trophy can't fake, because our own employees are the ones who wrote it.

Why a client should care how employees rate us

There's a practical reason our standing as a top-rated employer in NRW matters to clients, not just candidates. Low turnover means the people who start your project are the ones who finish it, and the ones who still remember why a decision was made six months in. Teams that aren't stretched thin catch more in review and cut fewer corners near a deadline. Developers who expect to be here next year tend to build for next year, not just for the demo.

Whether we're building custom software, moving workloads to the cloud, sorting out your DevOps, or putting AI to work on a real problem, that's the team you get.

If you're reading this as a developer

We're hiring, and yes, this is the part where we say so. If a place where every one of your future colleagues would recommend the job sounds like a change of pace, come see what we're working on. If a place where every one of your future colleagues would recommend the job sounds like a change of pace, take a look at our careers page and how we work.

If you're reading this with a project in mind

The same culture that earned this ranking is the one that ends up on your project. Tell us what you're trying to build, and let's talk.
